If you are having problems programming your TV please do not approach us, we do not support this element, it is beyond our control, if the information provided on this page does not work for you, then we don't have it. Only 90% of UK TV's are supported, so if you are outside the UK it is very likely that your TV is not supported, however the remotes are based around the one4all chipset, so you may find that codes for other manufacturers will work your TV.

The sky remote control is a fairly flexible remote control based around the one for all chipset, as such it can be used to control several models of television sets, indeed many more than is listed in standard digibox manuals.
This page contains all known codes for TV sets. Sky television codes.  It includes setting-up procedures for early remotes, later remotes and Sky-plus remotes. The codes also apply to the wireless Open keyboards

The latest versions of the original style SKY remote are Rev.6.  These remotes contain codes for more recent TV sets (possibly up to but not including 2005 models) however they do omit codes for TV sets that are now several years old.  The very latest remote shipping with new digiboxes has undergone a face lift and is now silver in colour,  the functionality remains the same. 

Sky have also placed the remote codes inside their interactive pages, you can get to this by going through the interactive menu, to technical support and then remote codes. The sky navigator keyboard remote is a perfect replacement for UK users with standard digiboxes who enjoy interactive services and for any user who needs a new sky plus remote.

Hints and Tips

If you have a Sky remote and it's not working for your digibox it's possible you have setup some macro's or changed it's programming inadvertently, before rushing out and buying a new one you may wish to try the following first..

Check to ensure you haven't set it to become a Sky+ remote - press "Sky" then "select" + "blue"  (hold for 2 seconds) then "0", then "select" then "sky"

To change it to a Sky+ remote - press "Sky" then "select" + "blue" (hold for 2 seconds)  then "2", then "select" then "sky" - limited functionality on some remotes and plus boxes.

To reset the remote back to startup TV set 038, and erase any macro's - press "TV" then "Select" + "Red" (hold for 2 seconds), then press "9","9","9".

If you have set your remote to control your TV you may wish it to automatically switch on the TV at the correct channel number, press "TV" then "Select" + "Green" (hold for 2 seconds), then enter the TV channel number followed by "select" to store.

There are some other functions, not discussed on this page, such as macro's and adding codes not inside the database, we will try to update this when we have obtained good relevant information.

Programming the SKY remote to operate your TV Receiver

Before the remote control can operate the TV it must be programmed, a 3 or 4 digit code can be entered to select the correct IR command set, held in the remote control's memory. The database stored  in the remote control, holds codes for around 90% of TV manufacturers, and some manufacturer's share the same code.

The 4 digit code identifies the make/manufacturer. All individual codes stored for each manufacturer are identified by a 3 digit code which is listed below.
The easiest way to set up the remote is to input the 3 digit code for the TV receiver if it is available.
If the 3 digit code is not known then an additional facility allows you to input a 4 digit manufacturer's code which then allows you to step through all codes held for that manufacturer until the correct code is identified.

The latest TV codes may not be in the remote database and it is possible that it will not be until the next update of the remote that these TV receivers can be controlled by the Sky remote.

3 digit code programming.

Press "TV", then "select" + "red"  (hold for 2 seconds) then the three digit remote code, then press the "power" button to see if it operates your TV, if not repeat the functions and trial of codes until it does, once you have found the correct number write it down now test the other functions of the TV it may be that you still haven't got the right code.

SkyHD Remote
The HD remote by default works ONLY the SKY-HD box. 
It can however control the HD box and the SKY+ box because the Sky-HD box recognises both sets of codes

To change it to a sky plus remote
1) Press the TV button.
2) Press and hold SELECT and i together until the LED flashes twice.
3) Press the number button 1 and then press SELECT.

To change it to a sky HD remote
1) Press the TV button.
2) Press and hold SELECT and i together until the LED flashes twice.
3) Press the number button 2 and then press SELECT.
